It is better to drop out & start a career than to stay in school, go on to college, & graduate, only to job hunt for 3 years to get a job using your degree.

I just finished my final school exams in June. I believe kids are dropping out because of pressure, from teachers, family and friends.
Exams should be broken up into two years- Half the subjects in one year and the other half the next year.
Another reason is that kids feel they will never get in to college- in Ireland we need to get points from our results. Some feel these are unachieveable.
If students are thought how to study from the first day they start secondary school it might help relieve the pressure nearer the exams.
If school was made a better learning enviornment, that was fun and relaxing it might help.
I was thinking of dropping out in the last three months because the pressure was so much, but thank god i stayed in and finished my exams.

Kids drop out because of many reasons. Their parents might need them for the family business, they might want to escape from the pressures of high school, or they just might not care. Also, family problems, such as pregnancy, death of a loved one, or numerous other factors can lead to dpression. Becuase of this, they may not want to stay in school.
You can't force people to stay in school, but you can make sure that they feel that school is a comfortable place. try Teaching kids about what would happen if they drop out, or try to make sure teachers can recognize problem in someone life. A small thing like that can make all the difference!!!

Parents have to be involved in their child's life and education from the beginning. Parents need to take a stand and not tolerate their child wandering aimlessly. If a child understands the consequences for dropping out (and there must be some) they'd think twice. Too many kids are in charge of the household not the parent. Too many parents make excuses because it's easier than taking action and too many support these lazy freeloaders that they have created. My kid could drop out of school, but then he's also required to move out, support himself and go to work. His choice...education...or adios.

many kids drop out early due to many internal problems in their life. maybe the most thougth of reason is being pregnant in most girls. because of money, time and nursing the infant, they dont have time to learn and get a diploma so they just drop everything and live life on their own. We can stop it by providing money and free eduction for them a establish a program for dropouts.

i believe that the money funding the school education is at it's lowest. the quality of the education is not taken seriously enough by the board of director's on education.
It's even a shame to know the fact that some students are smarter than their teacher's, now what do you think of that ?
also bad grades, mean no college education.
