i completely adore howard roark in the fountainhead!!!

Gosh! Me too! Howard Roark is just so sexy. In a way he's one of those ascetic, Rhett Butlerish "Frankly-my-dear-I-don't-give-a-damn" guys. And plus - I always did like to do my own thing and care a bit more about myself than others so it's nice to know others feel like it too sometimes. That I'm not being sinful by being selfish from time to time. I liked it, I loved it.

One of my favorite lines in all of literature is from The Fountainhead, when Toohey has pretty much destroyed Roark's life and asks Roark what he thinks of him. Roark replies, "But I don't think of you." The ultimate putdown!
Oh, Ayn Rand is wonderful, and Roark is indeed one of the most unforgettable characters ever created.

I have read Atlas Shrugged and The Fountainhead and a number of essays on her political persuasion - its ben a while

I have come across only 2 of her books Atlas Shruged and Foutainhead wish there were more. In my opinoin Ayn Rand's books hold you spelbound and you may like to read them over and over again

I have only read Anthem...I had to teach it to 12th grade philosophy students in my student teaching placement. I think it's probably an excellent intro to Rand and most definitely to the ideals of philosophical thinking.

Read "Atlas Shrugged" when I was a teenager. Read it again this year. Blah blah. Leaves me cold. Seems simplistic and over-rated - but I could be wrong!
