Humans are creatures of habit, when that habit is changed in any significant way, they tend to rebel. So the things that humans need to learn is to make their habits embrace change and it won't be so hard to accept change. What is normal in one culture is abnormal in another. We need to explore the world and learn tolerance.

It is an old survival instinct to not trust what we have not experience on a regular basis. We fear what we cannot predict because our experience, hunting and gathering on the plains with unpredictable nature.. has taught us that if we do not know it and it's effect on us.. we should be afraid of it. Self preservation. However, that being said.. we have evolved enough to have more than enough means to communicate and learn. So, today, what we fear should be what we need to learn about.

Change projects people to have difficulty to customize themeselves to it since they are used to a certain type of things. Things that are new seem to be difficult since people are not used to see others doing or using them. Fear of time consumed to get to be usedof things that are out of the norm hinders people of taking the action of using things out of the norm.

Through evolution we are hardwired to be wary of the different. Humans that did that best over time survived longer and passed those genetic codes to more offspring.

Conditioning. Children don't fear the stove until it burns them, the dog until it bites them, or the bike until they crash. Fear of illogical things is conditioned into humans by myths and mis-information.
