6' tall, weigh 181 to 193 lbs on the scales with no apparent logic in the readings. Basically I'm stuck at an average of about 13st4lb but read as low as 13st0lb and as high as 13st7lb depending on circumstances I cannot figure. Am trying to get my BMI lower than 25, ideally nearer 22. Can't exercise much due chronic ME. Have come down maybe 8lbs since January but would really like to know why the scales yo-yos day by day

You guys are not hearing me. I say again I weigh myself at the same time and in the same situation each morning. That website is a load of crap. Have you actually gone in there to see what it contains?

It fluctuates, because you do.
During sleep on a hot day you can sweat a huge amount of liquid which will of course register as a weight loss.
Then you take in some food and liquid as breakfast and you're heavier again.
The more sensitive the measuring equipment, the greater the fluctuation.

Have you tried weighing your food prior to eating?

Could be water weight, some people retain more than others and it is possible that you can gain and loose that amout in a day. You can check this by weighing your self at night before bed, then again in the morning (after you pee). If you weigh more at night (and a significant amount) then you are retaining water. Try eating less salt.

And stop worring about a few pounds...honeslty! People are too worried about dropping pounds. Stop eating so many processed food containg alot...ALOT of sodium. Have you ever read the back of a t.v. dinner...well, here in Canada it is the LAW to list EVERYTHING in the food, do you realize that they contain on average 2500 gram of soium? Sodim is salt ,2500 grams!
stop buying low fat, no fat, all that crap. Eat raw fruits and vegtables, raw natural products...regardless of your wieght, you will be alot heathier, stronger, more alert and happier.

Bathroom scales are usually fairly accurate with in a pound. The where and way you stand on it can cause different readings. If you think the scale may be faulty test it. Weigh something with a standard weight (like a new coffee can) put it in the same spot each time and the reading should be the same.

As stated above PLUS the electronic components also varies. The is no such thing as an accurate component. The finest component is measured as within 1% of the stated value. And they do vary by temperature as well. So while you might weight one value at one moment in time, it's quite possible to weight something else +/- a small amount as time, temperature, and you change throught the day.

Because of your natural body processes. You eat, you gain weight...you defaecate, you lose weight. Also sweating can influence your body weight, if you sweat a lot you will lose a bit of weight. You should weigh yourself as soon as you wake up.

People's weight varies dramatically.

Weigh yourself then go to the toilet and weigh again. You'll be surprised at how much you can lose.

Because you poop too much, especially out of your mouth, or your hand in this case. Now go jump out of an airplane and I hope the chute doesn't open.
