I dream that I need to take one more math course to get my college degree, but I realize I never studied and can not pass, and therefore I will never graduate from college. I wake up sweating and shocked about not graduating college - until I come to my senses. In reality I graduated college 20 years ago - but I have this dream about 1-3 times each year.

What is the meaning of this dream?

I would interpret this dream as maybe you don`t feel you`re living up to your full potential.

Let me analyze this for you.

You have anxiety, that is for sure. Even though you passed the past and graduated 20 years ago. You probably think that your result is not good enough or you want to go back to test the test again.

There are two possibilities.

1. Your math result is very good and yet you want to hold that victory feeling and want to feel the trumph again. That may be because of personality. You want to show off and very centered and you have a great sense of pride in your life.

2. Your math result is up to your liking and you want to go back fulfil the incompleteness. You have a great sense of pride and yunconsciously you did not allow yourself to fail.even the score is passed. You may be some sort of perfectionist. That is causing your anxiety to keep having that dream.

I would say either 1 or 2. I could be wrong, that is how I see from your dream!

So good to hear that I'm not the only one with stressful college dreams. I'm told that people who have dreams like these are experiencing feelings of in-completion, IE. we feel that we still have unfinished business there. Perhaps we haven't learned what we should have, or perhaps some interpersonal relationship from college was left open ended... you get the point.

In my dream I keep packing to leave college for the semester but I can't fit all my stuff into my car... and no matter how much I shove into the car, there's always a giant stack of more things that have to be packed... drives me crazy.

Recurring dreams are remembered because of their persistency, and therefore have more power than a one off dream that, though vivid, may be forgotten quickly.
I think the educational aspect of this dream is unusual but the focus for its deeper meaning.
I think, and it is only my opinion, that it means you are cutting yourself off from an aspect of your life that should be important- this could be a relationship, an attitude, a phobia, something that is preventing you from 'completing' whatever is incomplete in your life, and only you will know what that may be. Because you are not developing this part of yourself you are not learning the important lessons that you need to learn.
So- what is it that is missing from your life?
Think about it a little, and then try to see if you can address it.
I don't think the dream will go until you have done this.
Good luck!

Sorry to hear about your dream but i have been experiencing the same and i really would like to understand what this means. I dreamt that I was at my college graduation but I had left my cap and gown home. I was so panicked throughout the whole dream and I was running out of time. I'm not sure if this is a sign for me not to go back to school because I'm supposed to be going in 2 weeks, can someone help me please?

I see you already have a lot of answers to this question, but I'd like to throw in my opinion......... life is like school and we don't get to "graduate" until we pass all the tests. My opinion is that your dream is telling you that you are not ready to 'graduate' some particular course in life, and it may not have a darned thing to do with math. Just something very important and basic (which is what math is) that you have missed or misunderstood or misinterpreted. Think it over, meditate on it, or think before you go to sleep that you would like a further understanding of what it is, it may come to you in that dream.

Most Common Meaning: This dream often accompanies a rite-of-passage in waking life. The person who gets a promotion, takes on greater responsibility or begins to gain peer recognition for achievements or contributions is quite prone to this theme. Many of us are assailed with a sense of fraudulence when others begin to acknowledge our efforts, regardless of how deserving we may be. This dream seems to exaggerate and make ridiculous the subjective sense many have of being "unqualified" to "take credit" for our accomplishments.

The fact that you have been having this dream so long is telling. I would say this means that you aren't addressing a fundamental issue of your life, and haven't been for a very long time. Do you have unresolved expectations for your life? Are you experiencing pressure to conform? Nobody likes math. It's likely that you resent having to conform and this is coming thru in your dreams.

As an experiment, try visualizing yourself in math class. Make it as real as possible. Scan your body for areas of tension and 'breathe' into that area, telling yourself to relax while releasing the tension thru your breathe. See what images come up and thoughts surface. Allow yourself to release all that is not needed for you highest good.

Sometimes parts of our brain get stuck in the past, especally in dreams. You could be stressing out about being inadequate in your daily life, and so your brain finds a tramautic inadequacy it can come up with.

You should probably make sure you do your work ahead of time in all aspects of life. Research a mp3 player before you buy, etc. Make sure that you aren't setting yourself up for failure by not doing the work.

It seems to indicate that you feel inadequate somehow, not quite measuring up to expectations. Beyond that, you have got to examine the circumstances of your life to put this tidbit of data into it's proper place. Since you have been having this dream for years, examine the long term circumstances of your existence for the answer.

Dreams are the way your sub conscience expresses it's issues, but they are expressed symbolically. Once you understand this, finding the meaning of your dreams is not difficult.
