I want to start chatting with people who share some of my views about art and hopefully gain some knowledge about the subject. I love to draw (though i like painting, too.) and i hope to one day find a way to make money with my talent. I just wanted to find out if there where people on here similar to me. Thanks for the input.

Aaron

Am I the first to answer this question? I keep trying to be the first to answer questions. If you want to find out about art and artism and artology try http://www.proto-barbarism.ca/
Despite the barbarism part of the name, it's about art and poetry.
As for the people in here, I've found that a lot of them are really artistic, or at least I get that impression. Does that answer your question?

But you won't be able to get them to chat, cause that's against the rules in yahoo answers. If you try to chat or if you misspell words you will be sternly reprimanded.

I once received a reprimand in triplicate. One copy went to my email, one copy to the yahoo squad reprimand file and one copy to the catch-all bin. I think they said it was cause I said a bad word -- but it was only a typo. But they said something like, well if it's a typo that's a reprimand too, cause typos count as misspelled words.

Am I boring you? I never intentionally want to bore anyone, sometimes it just comes naturally.

Wait -- one more thing. I know a lady in Montreal who paints with acrylics in her kitchen, and her whole kitchen is crowded with paintings and painting supplies and all that kind of stuff, and they can't even eat in there anymore. And her husband is beside himself with worry about it, and what will guest think, and all that. So I wrote her an imaginary book, titled "Cooking with Acrylics" It's a wonderful book -- even if I have to be the only one who says so myself. If you are into cooking and painting, you need to pick up "Cooking with Acrylics" and the truly remarkable thing about it is, the whole thing is imaginary. Even the pages are imaginary.

I love to draw but it seems that I can only draw from a picture unless it's graffiti and then everything comes from my mind. My favorite mediums are pencils, colored pencils, permanent markers and charcoal. I practice often with watercolor but I always feel so disappointed with the outcome. I love graphic design even though I don't have the best programs on my computer. I think if I had the right programs for it I would do really good. I've been told many times that I should become a graphic designer or even a fashion designer because I love drawing clothes. Usually my art has more of an urban feel and style. I am only a sophomore in high school and I've taken only one true art class so far in my freshman year. So I have many skills that have yet to be discovered. : ]

I can be quite varied. But mostly, I love drawing people. Simple sketches.
I also love digital painting and oekaki applets.

Every tutor or career advisor I've seen brings up that "I'd be well suited for fashion illustration". Not sure what to make of it really!

Ah! And if you want to join an art community, www.deviantart.com is huge one with a lot of varied styles and talents.

Hi,

I'm a painter and sculpter tho I don't make my living that way. Not too many do. I used to work in an animation studio where people actually got paid for their talent...that was nice to see and what fun fun people. Why not post your work on your blog page? I put some up there on mine but just a few.

Peace

I have a natural drawing ability but only when i'm copying a picture,i seem to lack patience though and never finish anything,i think it's all about peace of mind though as i seem to have little,i'm just about to get in to painting coz it looks fun.Drawing can calm you down and it only takes a pencil and a peice of paper, although i'm a perfectionist and if something is'nt going well i lose my patience!

It would be so wonderful if I too know what I am good at. I am very much known (or famous) for my designing, for my writing, for my photography, for my website designing, for my programing or my advertising ideas and it is my job too but trust me I don't know a thing about designing. My girlfriend once said that I am good at knowing what is "Fine" I think she is right on that one. Other then that.. I am very complicated, thats my talent ha haa

Drawing is for winners. The teacher says I'm great with chalk, but I'm also into oil pastels and watercolors.
