Italy in the final by default! In the game with Aussie Grossi deliberately fell down after he went past Neil. Every conceivable view of that incident emphasis it. Conversely, he stayed down feigning insult and injury & waiting for the Ref's verdict. The whole crowd Aussie's & some Italians entirely stunned & appalled at the Ref's decision. Thus Italy went thru on default & the Ref not stripped of further officiation. It being the most shamefull display of deceipt I've witnessed! Grossi's behaviour nothing short of appalling, distasteful and utterly shamefull to the good name of italy!

Once in the penalty area its becomes nothing but a diving ground with players taking dives and/or feigning injuries. Surely, penalties should be removed from the International football scene. Conversely, why serve red cards when players are exhonerated for the feeblest of reasons and play in the next match. A red card should mean a player is not only off - he's expelled from the tournement

Penalties are a valid form of punishment. But I agree about the accuracy. Video replay for penalties would help.

If the ref is not sure if it is a foul or a dive then ask the video ref. After the video ref is called either send the diver off or give a penalty. More red cards for diving !!!

It would only be used in the box and would not slow the game down much.

No, atleast I don't think so. I think penalties are the best way to stop soccer from converting into wretling, without penalties players would undoubtedly throw themselves on others inside penalty areas and good scoring chances will be lost.

Also, red cards shouldn't be for expelling a player from the whole tournament since there can a referring error and it may cost the team the whole tournament.

Moreover, most of the red cards come on for the second serious foul and it is fair enough to penalise a player for 2 fouls
