I bought myself a staple and nail gun to cover a headboard in fabric. Is there anything else to use these wonderful things for. I'm female so wont need to get into roofing or anything like that...

Staple gun for sure. I use mine all the time for recovering chairs, and stuff.. There is many things you can use it for.. I don't find any use for a nail gun

Check that you are using the right type of nails to begin with, but if this is not the problem, then check that you don't need to put the nails in a different place inside the gun.

I made roman shades for my bedroom. These usually require the curtain to be stapled to a piece of wood that is attached to the wall or inside of the window casing.

Just wait and you will find more uses. See what projects you have next and inevitably you will find a way to use those new tools.

Craft projects. Picture frames buy some inexpensive molding, make a bird house with the kids (if you have children) fix or add trim work around the house. If you don't have one get a inexpensive 10" miter saw (doesn't need to be compound) and you can do all kinds of little woodworking projects around the house
Have fun, be careful.
