Why do we feel we have to apologize for being English. The Blair Government are making it impossible for us to openly say I am English and proud to be so

Actually you have a national identity (and history) of world domination (not in a truely bad way like Hitler) thus Blair is doing what the British have always done. Be proud of your national identity and history. You have brought civilality to the world.

Yes.I am English; born in England;but have a British passport,issued by the UK.goverment.I am an Englishman;not Welsh;Scottish or N.Irish.I am sure those others who are part of the UK.do not wish to be referd to as British;but by their country of birth,so that we can all uphold the values and traditions of our countries,and be proud to do so.I accept that I am a British citizen as my government is the UK.government democratically elected by the people of England;Wales;Scotland;N.Ireland.

I think things are improving somewhat, I mean football hype is a bore but at least it meant we could reclaim the Cross of St George from the National Front thugs.

I live in Italy now, and I am constantly embarrassed by my English origins. I HATE what is happening in Britain! You are losing freedoms faster than you can possibly realise, and being dumbed down so fast it is untrue.
Many years ago, I was working in Rome, and someone said to me, "You English are just so anally retentive". At the time, I had no idea what they could possibly mean. Now I do. You English are just so Anally retentive!

15 years ago i tried to leave the uk,but at customs i had put place of birth as england and customs crossed it out and put uk,i crossed it out and put england,customs took my passport and i have never left uk since,but you can put scotland ireland or wales,i love england and am proud of what it stands for,so not being able to leave england is not a problem
