How do you know who is lieing and who is telling the truth?

Their reply is too long, For instance: when you call in sick for work, most times if you truly are under the weather you merely state the simple truth: you don't feel well. If you are lying, chances are, you thought over all the reasons why you can't make it to work and end up offering an elaborate explanation because you pondered over every possible scenario that caused you to "be ill". Thus, you end up overly trying to convince the other party because you feel the need to falsely assure them that you are incapacitated.
Basically, too many elaborate excuses signify some degree if falsehood. The true situation, most times, tends to be simple and needs no embellishment.

Because of the person..the way they act...like my *adopted brother* lied alot and i knew he was because he came up with the dumbest excuses.....and he was 18! and sucked at it...like for instance...wheere did you find that 100 dollar bill?
