If you actually have something important or interesting to say, people will find you.
Sorry, but it seems that 99.8% of all blogs do not contain content of importance or interest. Maybe instead of blogging it would be better to spend the time doing something useful.

Look for blogs that have similar content to yours and then ask them if they can add a link to your site if you add a link to their site.
Especially do the above on more popular blogs which have high number of visitors.

Once you have posted an article or a statement on your blog, you need to let people know.
first go to
http://www.technorati.com
and list your blog with them.
then go to
http://www.pingoat.com
type your blog in the box, click on the title of the ping lists, to highlight them, just english if your english speaking and ping.
This will let all those groups know you exist on the web.
Remember to put your own information, pictures ect on your site.

advertise of course have a good blog, or better yet work for a blog that already has a following.
