its easy if u get the fundamentals right! i.e the basic ractions and their meachanisims. once u get that right you will see that organic chemistry is damn easy! Its all about concepts.

Organic chemistry is only difficult if you choose to memorize everything. There are a few things to memorize- nomenclature rules, pKa values, some reactants- but in general if you take the time to learn trends, it can be easy. One trend to keep in mind is organic reactions are really Lewis acid/base reactions. If you learn what Lewis acids and bases are, you should be able to do well in an organic chemistry course.

Hi... I have just taken Organic Chemistry module in NTU...and also studied Organic Chemistry in A level..
I feel to score in Organic Chemistry, you have to first seek to understand all the mechanisms if possible... then you should do a mind map for all the reactions.. e.g. for Alkenes, Alcohols, Ethers and Epoxides, Carbonyl compounds etc and then link them together....
Just by memorizing all the reactions , in my opinion will not give you a good score.. if you want Distinctions, you have to study smart and learn and understand the mechanisms..... of course, memory work is needed, especially for the conditions..

easy or not, all are depend to you. try to interested with it, may be you will find some fun in it. then, you will not think it so difficult. everything start with hard, but at least we no give up. read more and always ask other people or do research when you do not understanding some terms in your course...organic chemistry. i wish you Good Luck!

learning organic chemistry is very easy .it's all depend upon you who yoy tackle this one . first of all you understood all the basic concepts of organic chemistry and then start learning organic chemistry of easy chapters to tough chapters and try to revise it daily , because on revising you remember the organic chemistry.
give two hours daily to organic chemistry.

No it is not and it depends a lot on the professor. I'm a chemistry teacher and even I had difficulty learning it. Good luck...find somebody really smart and study hard.

if you do a little every day it will get easier. if you blow it off and try to cram you will fail. orgo kills premeds more than any other class. Go in for help if you need it and stay with or ahead of the class. If you fall behind you're toast
