I actual don't have any difficulty spelling athiestststststststss. See? ;) yet heavily, i imagine some each and every individual is wondered by using English rule, "i before e except after c." for sure, there are exceptions to this rule, and that i imagine human beings ignore that. As for pluralizing it... I actual do no longer understand. in spite of the indisputable fact that, many of the individuals who address inquiries to "athiest" "athesits" or some thing similar actual do understand a thanks to spell, and are purely giving atheists a not basic time. Edit: i in my view do ignore concerning the spell-examine on right here, in many circumstances because it has a tendency to settle on to maximum ideal my spelling even as there are not any blunders. as an celebration, in accordance to the Yahoo spell-checker, Mithraism is a misspelling, and so is the be conscious "one's" (as in, "one ought to personal as a lot as one's blunders"), and so is et cetera, which quite annoys me. It also tries to maximum ideal me on the spelling of dissimilar holy books (like Tanakh, Bhagavad Gita, and Qur'an) and gods/goddesses modern in different religions, plus names of bands and peoples' very last names. stressful. So I ignore about it regularly of thumb.

Poor spelling is NOT a sign of low intelligence. I should know. I was taught in a public school to read and write phonetically. I then was moved to a new school and couldn't read or write.

Phonetically
Knife = nif
write = rit

Yah, pretty well messed me up for life. Don't worry about it.

You could misspell stuff all day long and as long as it is phonetically correct it really doesn't matter. People who make a big deal out of spelling because they believe it implies ignorance are to quick to put themselves on pedestals. My father is partially deaf. He speaks and often writes as he hears words. Before people laugh and act like a jackass toward an honest and common mistake maybe they aught to evaluate their own short comings.

English is a difficult language to master--even to those of us who grew up with it. We have all sorts of rules regarding spelling but there are so many exceptions to the rules that it's no wonder a lot of people can't spell, even if they're really trying.

maybe english wasn't your first language, if so then that could be the reason. also, you may have dyslexia in which case there are exercises you can do to help with your problem. or perhaps you just aren't a good speller, just like some people aren't good at math. no need to be ashamed, just work on it.
