Way too big a question for this space. Nevertheless, I will give it a try.

Life is to grow, to learn, to create, to leave something behind when you are done with it. And more than all of these, it is to love.

I feel that the meaning to life is subjective, everyone creates their own meaning, my meaning is to live life as best I can and have some fun along the way.
Basically no one can truly answer the meaning of life since no one truly knows how we even got here and what happens after death.
So all in all, meanings are applied to help us feel that we were not simply a fluke in creation and help assure us that once we die there was some meaning and that death is not the end. Whether it be simply a religiousless "leave my mark" or "continue the bloodline" theory or a religious theory of preparing for the afterlife or karma, it's merely trying to help us dissuade the haunting fact that there truly may not be a point or meaning to life.
So as I said, the meaning of life is what you make of it, I don't know if there truly is "a" meaning or not, or if it is all for nothing. But I know that I'm going to try to enjoy my life for the short time that it is and not be hung up on trying to discern a perfect meaning for being in existence.

Biologically, the meaning of life is to reproduce. Philosophically, there cannot possible be a meaning to your life other than that which you create for yourself - that which has meaning to you.
