My mom served time in prison when I was a child, and as an adult I still have abandonment issues has anyone ever dealt with this and what helped you.

my mom left me when i was a baby and growing up everyone always told me what a bad person she was, and she didnt care about me and just a lot of crap. i had lots of anger built up towards her, im 28 now i met my mother 2 yrs ago and she told how my father was abusive and she was an alcoholic and she told me why she left me and it made sense to me, i have two little girls and i would not leave them for the world i know what is like to grow up without a mom, but i forvive my mom she is still a alcoholic and she is pretty messed up person but i love her anyways we are not very close now but i make up what she couldnt give to me by giving all i have to my girls and im happy

There is no shame in therapy sessions you know. Sometimes a good one can help you address those very issues, which are actually quite common really. You are not alone you know. You have a computer. Research abandonment and you may find some strategies or guidance to help you work through your issues.

I was passed around from family member to family member as a child. I dont know how old you are, but I can say from experience it took me aabout 12 years to deal with all the things that brought up, especially the abndonment issues. If you feel comfortable talk to someone about it (a professional). One thing that helped me and it was something I did on my own, was get to know myself, be happy being with myself and being sure of who I was. Not who I thought my childhood made me to be. You can find the stregnth and knowledge you need to heal inside yourself...goodluck

i never had experienced like that... but you have to be strong in facing the issues like you have mentioned... you will become a better person and soon get over with it
