Indiscriminately, NO!
I will NEVER voluntarily surrender my earnings to pay some bureaucracy to administer "help" to anyone.
I prefer to give my earnings directly as I am pleased to do so.
I have paid tuition for others
I have paid utility bills for others
I have monitored how effectively my contributions have "helped" others.
I'm pleased so far.
Now, if I could only legally stop paying into Medicare and the like, I could do more.

I do not make over 100k a yr,
but yes I do donate to the poor.
On a daily basis, no.
I do donate clothing, furniture,
household items etc, to Purple
Heart, Salvation Army etc, regularly
throughout the yr though.
I have also gave money to people
I have seen who appeared to be
homeless on the streets, on several
occasions or have bought them food.
I have volunteered at a Soup Kitchen.
I wish I could say that I do donate
weekly, but I do not, as for your question
of 2% of your salary, I would have to
say I think Im close to that after it all
in the long run though.
Thank you for reminding me to do more
for people who are in need.
Good Question.

I do give(mostly to family or people I know). I am a teacher so I end up giving/using a lot more than 2% to or for students or my classes in general. I would never blindly give, I need more control than that. Quite frankly, I see poor people all the time that I would not give a dime. Especially in my country (US). If you are American, you really don't know what true "hopeless" poverty is. We have so many safety nets not available to the poor of the developing world.

I do not earn anywhere near that much.
I donate far more than 2% of what I do earn to Harvest For Hunger, local food banks, and food for local homeless and battered women's shelters.
Here in the States, we have SO much, I think we should all pick the cause of our choice, and GIVE.

Yes of course, I consider it a privilege, even on a senior age pension.
The only poor I have no time for, are those that can't afford to feed and clothe their kids, but are never without their booze and cigarettes.

I already have to pay ridiculously high taxes to pay someone's dole, I don't think the poor need any more of my money! Did you know I would also get more money if I didn't work than what I get now? I think the whole worlds gone crazy!

for many many years i did this and more, plus I traveled to some of the places where my donations were suppose to be spent on starving children,on medicine,on clean water-instead it was being wasted on those in foreign goverments, and or those volunteers so called.
thus now if i cannot directly help someone/orgroups,I do not.

I'm on public assistance, and with what change I manage to have left over, I donate to charity on a regular basis.

Sure we would all donate 2% out of our salary to charity, IF IT WAS TAKEN OUT OF OUR BIG TAX WE PAY ALREADY, yes 2% of our tax could go to charity would clear poverty in no time considering how much we pay.
