If marriage has nothing to do with two people of the same sex which it clearly does not, why do they feel the need to take it over?

Its comparable to me taking over a lesbian parade. I have nothing to do with it.

Would your culture be upset if I tried to change a vital part of it, when I have absolutely nothing to do with it?

Lets face it....gays want everything, they want there own parades, restuarants, nightclubs, hotels, gyms, spas, bathrooms, the list goes on and on....
I wish they would just blend in, I could care less if your gay, but I'll be damned if two guys/gals get married and get tax breaks, that us single guys/gals can't get....

i think one reason is: that married couples get benefits like: tax deductions, or cheaper insurances...stuff like that.
if you're a homo-couple; then its almost as if you have to PAY more and therefore, are not treated fairly.
Marriage today CAN have something to do with the same sex...
Its just that conservatives and people afraid of change give so much credibility and mert to the Bible....and therefore our laws which were based on that book.
But slme parts of that book are crazy! talk about old times....and talk about a looooooooooooooooong time ago.

What is your logic for marriage not concerning people of the same sex? That's not according to the dictionary. How would you fell if the law and irrationally prejudiced people pronounced your intimate relationship irrelevant and invalid? Or if you knew the law would not give your partner any rights?
And, Mike,-who cares what YOU think (if it could be honored by being called thinking).

your "it clearly does not" phrase reveals more prejudice than sanity.
your "feel the need to take it over" phrase does likewise.
all the benefits, protections, and provisions set in motion through the simple civil procedure of marriage is what we Gay and Lesbian tax paying citizens of the USA want... nothing less and nothing more.

Marriage is the union of two people who are committing themselves to each other that is why civil unions are not good enough.
