This is a curiousity question of how relationships change, or desolve with time, paths taken, and/or circumstances since childhood friendships
If you do still have those freinds in your life, what do you believe contribuited to the lasting friendship?
(This question is targeted at those older than 20, but anyone is welcomed to answer)

Very interesting question. I am still fairly close with about 7 friends from High school. however as I have aged the friendships have evolved into less personal contact. Busy work lives, geography, and time spent with our family have gradually reduced the amount of time we get to see each other. But we probably still get together about 4 times a year. WE stay in touch via IM, email and phone.
It is funny when I think about it I wish we could get together more often, but then check my schedule and see 2 soccer games, 2 baseball games, and a swimming lesson preventing me from traveling out of my town too often.
As for what has contributed to the lasting friendship, I think it was the bonds of friendship that we formed were so tight when we were younger. These 7 people were like brothers to me. We helped each other through problems, we had each others backs, and we enjoyed each others company. I had then and still have a feeling that I could depend on these guys for anything and that they would be there for me. In life, if you can get a deal like that you take it. I hope it lasts for another 28 years or more.

i have two friends from my childhood.i still keep in touch with them.but i can't see them like the old days. i miss my childhood and the time i spent with them.we used to play,run ad be free without any doubt.(like money,carrier etc.)
so good days...
p.s. i am older then 20.but want to be a child again... :))

im still friends with 5 of my childhood friend and we are closer then ever. we are still friends coz we always had contact with each other and we were friends since when we were 1 years old

hi Craptacular, i still have my 4 childhood frnds(i have these frnds from class 1st)........everyone is pursuing their own career,in fact we all our not in the same town but still we try to meet each other whenever we get an opportunity,we still wish each other on their birthdays and festivals.....this keeps our friendship alive....

do to moving, girls and different interest, i can honestly say i have one friend from my childhood but we arent close friends any more now we just talk once in a while.
