Sometimes, when stars receive too much publicity, people just become negative. It is unfortunte because Bono has done a lot of good.

its the same with bob geldoff, some people just cant understand that celebs care about the world because that image doesnt conform to the way we see celebs, we think they are money hungry publicity seeking nobjockeys and in most cases they are but bono is out there trying to do some good in the world and we should support him, to that guy saying hes an idiot trying to support blah blah blah, hes a man who could be doing whatever he wants but hes trying to save lives, we aint talking about corrupt african governments here we are talking about human beings who have things a lot harder than we do and if more people were like bono then the world would be a much better place for all of us not just the select few in western countries. the only problem i have with bono is that i just hate u2, except that beautiful day song though thats good.

Because, Bono, messes with all of us comfortably sitting around complaining all the time, consuming (well over consuming!) & litering the planet with our garbage, contaminating the sea, polluting the air & the water, exhausting the resourses (water), burning forests to build houses. These are only a few among the many things average people do (we all have our share in this situation- it is not only goverments & big companies) and are connected to the Third World (and not not only) poverty .
So, he shouldn't remind us of our wrongdoings by telling us about people in Africa. Because there are poor people in our countries too. Not that we care, help or not exploit them... but there are destitute people next door.
It really hurts knowing that well off people are concerned about others instead of just spending their money only on cars, houses and whatever else they wish and minding their own bussiness.
Only the idea that a famous person gets more fame from doing sth good is annoying.
Does Bono take tax payers' money (by requesting goverments to help African countries) ? Do goverments spend tax payers' money to buy weapons for wars we do not want part in making more people poor?
I personally don't care why he does what he does or why others hate him for that, I don't care if what he does makes him more famous or richer, as long as he has the strenght and will to go on! (along with all the others, celebrities or not).

People are jealous of others' success and are petty. Besides that, Bono reminds us that each of us can make a difference, if we are willing to do so. We need not have millions to spend, but we can work on the neighborhood in which we live. There are local charities who need cash donations, but there are also opportunities to provide help without a cash investment. Time is also an important gift for those who need a friend or some chores done that physical impairments prohibit.

Well If Bono is so concerned, maybe he should dig into his own pocket instead of asking me to pay more taxes, because some turd world country wanted to play with the Big Boys!
**** Bono! If you cant imagine why, its probably because you dont work for a living. If your so well off put your $ where your mouth is. Or better yet, move to Sudan, and share your wealth.
LMAO.....BTW....thats why Brad and Angelina are there right. Not for publicity.
Charity begins at home.

bono has made his money already and he does a lot of good. are we asking him to live in a cardboard box because he believes in a cause. people are u2 fans and have been so for a long time. so the whole doing it for publicity thing isn't really right.

I think it's the idea of a rich man becoming more famous and more rich off the backs of poor African. He gets so much coverage yet I don't think anyone person is any the wiser about Africa the country. I mean, how many people can name more than ten countries in Africa?

Some people just don't like his arrogance, I suppose. Anyone who is doing what he is is ok by me, although hunger will always be with us. I like the guy, and his music, but I do believe it is very arrogant to suppose that we can eliminate hunger. Even Jesus said, "The poor you shall always have with you." I choose to believe Him over Bono - what do you think?
