i would suggest you reboot your computer once and then try again.
This change occurs only if you have downloaded some updates for IE. I assume you are using a home computer and not office computer.
if still having problems try the following
If you still have problems, some ISP's provide a customized version of IE. Some Web pages will also reset your home page and do this. One of the customizations they might make is to disable the ability to change the home page, so that you are forced to use their home page. You can re-enable this by making a small change in the Windows registry.
In Regedit, navigate to this key:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Pol... Explorer\Control Panel
In the right-hand pane, right-click the "HomePage" value, then select Modify. Change it to: 00 00 00 00
Also change either or these to zero 0 instead of 1 if present:
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\M... - DWORD "NoSetHomePage"=dword:00000001
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Po... Explorer\Restrictions] - DWORD "NoSetHomePage"=dword:00000001
If you don't have this key, browse to:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Mic... Explorer\Main
and in the right hand pane, double click "Local Page" and set equal to "C:\WINDOWS\System\blank.htm" (no quotes) which will hopefully set your Home Page to blank and then allow you to subsequently modify it using Internet Options.
Exit regedit and reboot.
When you reboot, you should be able to change the home page again.
Some pages will also download a program which keeps changing it back. Go to Start | Run and type:
msconfig
and press or click OK. Go to the Startup tab.
See if you can identify any suspicious programs. If you can, uncheck it, If you can't, change the home page to what you want and then uncheck one and then reboot. Try IE. If the Web page changed, change it back and then try msconfig again, rechecking the last one and unchecking the next. Keep doing this until you find the culprit.

well first of all when you post a question like this you really should post a link to the original question, so we can find it easier.
I did mange to find your original question, and in there you mentioned the e icon was changed from "Yahoo! to 'runonce.msn. com" this to me would indicate that neither time where you actually calling your browser directly. First you where calling a yahoo macro that then opened your browser, now your calling a msn one that opens your browser.
Try doing this: create a shortcut and have it point to this:
C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer\IEXPLORE.EXE
that will open the browser directly, and probably let you keep the homepage (the first page the browser opens) set to what you want it set to.
also for the guys saying msn is not a ISP your halfway correct.
msn does not by itself provide internet access, but I did some searching and found some isps that bundle a special msn service with their connection. This could be seen by some as msn providing the whole service.

1) Didn't notice your question before.
2) Your question was conflicting and the problem described doesn't use technical terms correctly making it confusing. First, ISP RARELY has anything to do with your homepage of your web browser. ISP stands for Internet Service Provider and MSN isn't an ISP, its a website.
I'll attempt to answer how you change your homepage of Internet Explorer now.
