The person you ultimately fall in love with and want to spend your life with should also be your best friend.

The issue seems to be, you aren't sure what he feels. Before spilling everything out, try and determine if he has similar feelings for you and is also willing to take the chance. Approach it slowly.

But...the truth is, if you really feel that strong, it will most like become a problem at some point anyway. You're going to start feeling you're giving more than you're getting back. What if he gets into a relationship with someone else? Can you still be the friend?

It could be best to just be open and honest now because you ultimately may not have anymore to lose. You could also miss an opportunity, because he may be thinking the same thing. Don't count on having it both ways. From this point, if you don't end up in a relationship I would expect it's just a matter of time to where the friendship suffers. Do it for yourself also, because you need to know and not spend your life hoping it may someday happen.

don't act on it. trust me i told my best friend how much I cared about him and we still talked but it was never the same. We are actually dating now but he's a horrible bf and he cheats on me. It's a sad thing to loose a best friend I wish i could go back but still know what I do now, I wouldn't have done it

Life is full of risks, that is one of the things that makes life interesting. Take the risk, I think it is better to regret than to never know, and if your risk pays off wooo hoo.

i think you should either let him/her know how you feel or just drop the feelings you have for him/her. if you do want to tell him/her your feelings you have for him/her then don't expect everything to go your way he/she will either feel the same way towards you or he/she might not feel the same way as you do.if they are your best friend they will tell you how they feel too. you never know he/she might feel the same way about you. your the only one that can decide witch you want to do so good luck on your decision.

well.. if you really love him go and tell him! wait for his reaction.. you may not know he likes you as well.. but when he avoids you then he's not your real friend! look for other! he don't deserve you.. ^_^
