Tounge piercings. How much does it hurt, and how easy is it for it become infected?

Question

If you can, I have an eyebrow piercing, a cartilage piercing, and an ear lobe piercing so comparing it to one would be helpful, but feel free to describe it however you want.

Thanks. I'm hoping your answer can help me come to an informed decision about whether or not to get my tounge pierced soon.

Actually getting the piercing is not very painful, it is just uncomfortable, and the swelling after wards sucks, especially since you can't eat solid foods for a couple of days. Eating ice usually helps though. It is very easy for a tongue piercing to get infected, because of all of the bacteria in your mouth. You have to use Listerine after every meal and after every cigarette for awhile, but if you use it too much you can over-clean and get infected that way, as well. Good luck.

it's dealable, the pain, cartilage hurts more my friend so you got the worst over with ;) it will be sore as hell for a good couple of weeks though, your mouth heals very, very fast, but you will still have to to super careful and clean it meticulously as your piercer instructs, as it can get infected in a flash, which is realy gross and complicated. talk to your piercing artist, they've got loads of info for you.

I do know about your TOUNGE, but your tongue might hurt slightly. Since it is in your mouth it can easily become infected because there are alot of bacteria in your mouth. Keep your mouth clean and it should be O.K.

It hurts more to those who are in front of you (bacteria container) I can tell you: You don't need to add anything to yourself to be healthy, original and acceptable.
