A Supreme Being has come to the Earth in an effort to destroy it. In all this Beings infinite wisdom, it has allowed us to defend our existence in this Universe. It points out the good we have done early in our history, but the Being adds, "So what have you done - lately?" Ok Defense Team.... What do I tell the Being that we have done to further good in the world during the last 10 years in an effort to save our World?

the last 10 years? Well, Clinton did pass a tremendous forest protection bill right before the end of his term, but we were too concerned with who was under his desk to care. But at least now we have a nice moral president who does nothing for the world and focuses solely on advancing the US's stranglehold of global resources, so that we never have to completely abandon our petro-economy.

We have lots of individuals who have tried to do good. Bill Gates donates tons of money to charitable causes. There are also the countless number of people from every town that serve their community and try to make their little piece of the world a better place. I think that's where the good of our species lies... with the individuals. Modern society as a whole, however, is a rash on the Earth's ***. When you say "what good have we done" it depends on what "good" is. If you pass a law to protect a forest, you're costing other people jobs. Create jobs, you're destroying a forest. If you save people's lives in 3rd world countries, you may end up having five times the number of suffering people in 20 years. But if you let them die, that's cruelty.

I don't think we've ever been a "good" or a "bad" species. I don't think good and bad exist at that level. The world just is. There's some planet full of sweetheart aliens probably getting pegged with some massive meteor right now somewhere in the universe. Who gets to judge what good aliens do?

It's not a world wide fact but it goes to show the goodness in people. As you probably know Greece and Turkey do not have the best relationship due to events that happenned throughout history. However when an earthquake hit Turkey in '96 or '97 Greek rescue teams imediately responded to help the Turkish people. Similarly when the '97 earthquake hit Greece, the Turkish rescue teams responded to help the Greeks. I'm pretty sure that counts as a good deed.

If the supreme being wants to destroy the earth, who are we to argue. Are you suggesting you know more than GOD?

We had a good run, lets not cry when it ends.
