My questioin is about antique carnival glass. We were wondering how it came to be named. In a couple books we have that fact is not answered.

Actually, yes ! Artifacts made from this particular glass were used as carnival prizes, or promotional materials. Just learned the fact myself ! Up until 10 seconds ago, I didn't even know exactly what carnival glass even is, mistakenly confusing it with another item -- the kaleydoscope (or magic glass)... Go to the Wikipedia (see link below) for more details -- Like, did you know there was a certain type of carnival glass that incorporated in its mixture traces of uranium salts?...

Yes it was won as prizes for various games especially during the 30's
