Why is the US such a joke, a country with the wealth and population and technology should set the strandards and examples, but they are so far off, every other country dislikes the US, it cant be a coincidence. If the world jealous appears in any answer, thats summarises what a idiot you would be.

I love this, all americans on the defensive once again, you so full of crap, you all say 'americans help other countries" what bullshit , they try to help when it is not wanted "IRAQ" and if any of you had a brain you would realise that USA does crap for countries compared to others, yes they give more money than any other but one of the least when you compare donations to the value of your economy, see, none of you arfe clever enough to even know this.

Your country is a joke and thats why your all getting worked up cos its true. And one more thing, you say you help other countries, well if you didnt rip them off in trade they wouldnt be so damn poor, you bunch of fat pricks, yes fat, big obese pigs who stuff there faces.

Final Note : All you americans are very frustrated with life in the states you get agressive when the truth is told. Yes America is good for disneyland, nba, apple, and thats about it, but thats it, you bring nothing to the pot, the best technology is created in Japan, the best motors are created in Germany, The best commercial food is from the uk, the best fashion is created in france and italy. You have nothing but an an army full of people who would claim welfare if they werent in the army. Also your armys boys are GUN HO rednecks, and way dull, they think they are in a film or something. Ha, losers, oh yeah you do make some good films, give you you respect there. Saying that the best film makers arent even from the US. The best thing about the US is most of you people havent got passports, and the people who have are so obese they cant fit in a plane seat. So you cannot infest other countries with your bullshit. The truth hurts.

Oh more answers, Dan B, your so full of crap. You americans are so up your own asss, you only have a big army cos of your big population and land mass, you only have the wealth because of your workforce size, its all common sense, nothing to do with your way of life.

You say your country is so great and everybody wants the "American Dream", who wants it, Mexians, and other local countries, they dont want to be like you, they want a better life and the USA has the resources, thats all, you are brain washed if you think something else. You have no culture, (hamburgers and fries are not culture), your country is based on commercial advertising, every thing is sponsored by someone, its quite sad really.

No country is perfect, I agree, but the USA is so over endulgent it makes people sick. You waffle out the same old rubbish like "you wouldnt have internet without USA" thats lame, its like saying you wouldnt have the internet if it wasnt foir the guy who discovered electric and its uses

I don't see people fighting to get into China, India, Pakistan, Korea, Czechoslovakia, Mexico, Guatemala, Belgium, France, Ukraine, Mongolia, Jordan. I do see people fighting and dreaming of going to America. So apparently I'm an idiot because most countries are jealous and I must not be an idiot because I can use spell check.

And one great thing also, heathernic_410, is that America gives you the freedom to have that kind of attitude without being shot. Feel free to leave whenever you like.

No country is perfect. But there are some that are better than others. And along with countries like Australia and Canada, the United States is one of them!

A system that allows people to govern themselves, handle their own affairs and live in freedom is bound to have it's problems. But, even with the problems, it's better than living under religious rule, or the hand of tyrants, or in a system where very few tell very many how to live. If you call a system where the people share in the wealth of the nation and have the freedom to develop and live with the technology of the nation pathetic, then I can only wonder in what kind of a great place you must live. Because it surely is not on this earth!

I find it ironic that, "every other country dislikes the US," but they are all so quick to ask for help from the US when they need it.

Oh and for those who live in the US and dislike the US... you have the freedom to move out. In fact, you are welcome to!

Self-deprecation is all the rage these days, and unfortunately quite the American thing to do. It's as easy as shooting fish in a barrel, and as a result the media shoots away, showing the world our worst side. American corporations wield power and sometimes abuse that power, but in the end it's not just Americans that hold stock in those companies (Japanese, German, French, Russian, and on and on). Your don't get to see the misery caused by power structures elsewhere because the freedoms don't exist there to expose those offenses.

Your limited world view and tendency over simplify world issues is nauseating. Remove America out of the interantional equation and you'd be lucky to have some endless factory job, working for the good of The State. You sure as hell wouldn't have the leisure time or freedom to spill your blather all over cyber space.

America isn't perfect, but it's better than Krapistan.

I have to say I often struggle with this question. Ultimately I believe that we as a country are not pathetic, but I can certainly see why one would think we were. We have a country filled with people who have the best of intentions but are locked behind a painfully inadequate political system. So many of us feel unable to (or worse unwilling to) affect change in the society we live in. So many good intentions and so little focus or willingness to make those intentions realities. Naturally there are many Americans who simply close their eyes and ears to the realities of the world and are more than willing to fall in line, but I do believe they are a minority. The majority just hasn't woken up yet.

So to sum up, we aren't pathetic and I really do hope that one day you'll get to see that.

Ignorance and narrowmindedness are what give the US a bad image abroad. For example, many American citizens cant even point Iraq, Afghanistan, or North Korea out on a map. Americans in general are ignorant of other peoples' cultures..which in turn causes great conflict. Many Americans seem to be oblivious to the fact that there is actually a world outside of the United States..and that the United States does not rule the world. Hypocricy is rather rampant in this country as well..we have a bad habit of saying one thing and doing another as well as not practicing what we preach. Greed is also a cause because Americans by nature are controlled by the almighty dollar. We scour the world looking for a new oil source or a new area to build a sweatshop so that we can put shoes on our feet.

First, I don't need to defend the US....I was born here, I have fought for her and I have a family here. I have been to other countries, including the middle-east, and in every one of those counties the people there have asked me about America. Did we have the same view point every time, no. But that is called a difference of opinion or tolerance of another's beliefs, not jealousy as you seem to intimate. Let me ask you something Sumuraifox (bet that's an oxymoron) why don't you tell us which country you are from...I prefer not to make a stereotypical guess based on you nickname...and what is so wonderful about your country. Every country has good and bad things going. Why not inform us of the good, bad and ugly of your country. You seem to be an expert on my country. Let's see if you can be honest about where ever you live. If you'd like, pull my contact info and contact me direct so you won't embarrass yourself. And know matter where you are from, I have no doubt that I can list as many bad things about your country as you have listed about mine. The trouble might be listing anymore than 2-3 good things......how about it? Care to give it a go?

I don't live in the US but you can't class everyone as being 'a joke' that lives there. It is the government that have control over things, and I believe the American government are very powerful.
Because the Government think they are the most powerful and best country in the world (being Christians) they have passed this on to their people. some of whom buy into this. I believe there are a huge number of Americans that are not happy with the Government and think differently but maybe feel powerless to make positive changes or don't want to 'rock the boat' anyway.

Iraqi_51 said it best: "Every country has good and bad things going. Why not inform us of the good, bad and ugly of your country. You seem to be an expert on my country. Let's see if you can be honest about where ever you live."

Samuriafoxi in reading of your insatiable rants about my country, I cannot help but be reminded that YOUR country has committed some of the greatest atrocities to humanity that the world has ever known. The Roman Catholic Church has apologized for its past sins against humanity. I keep waiting and hoping your country will belly up and do the same. It is easy to surmise from your never ending tirades that it will NOT begin with YOU!

Since you believe you are a master of following rules and regulations, maybe you should read up on the Yahoo! Answers. Your ranting is in violation of the TOS.

Guys! Guys!! take it easy, there is people who is never happy where ever they are ... US is a very powerful and popular country... there are some stuff that even for me are not making US popular around the world like Irak or Afghanistan... anyways... I love US, I love its people... I hope the best for all of you.. BUT please remenber just want thing: Nobody has won a war ever!! & there 's no way to find peace with war... there will be always resentment and it will not end up.
I understand why this guy didn't write where is he from.... I think is better that way, because that is a personal opinion and for sure not all the people from his country will agree with him.
As I say before in one of my question... it is too easy to judge one country when you do not know its people.. but certainly not the most effective.

Why is the US such a joke? Interesting question. Who thinks we are a joke?

The hundreds of millions of people who were freed from the Nazis and the Japanese Fascist's by American blood? (Since 1900, American troops have conquered almost half the world and we have not kept one square foot of that territory.)

The thousands of people around the world who are saved every day by the technology developed in America? (Try life without the MRI, or 95% of modern medicine.)

The million or so people who were hit by the tsunami last year, who first saw relief in the form of a US Navy ship? ($150 million in aid given by the US Government and over a $1 Billion in private aid given by the American people.)

The thousands of people who risk their lives trying to sneak into America each year so they can work hard jobs at sub standard pay? (How desperate would you have to be to risk your life so you could have a chance to get a job harvesting lettuce?)

Who thinks the US is such a joke? The people I have met who think the US is a joke, tend to be self absorbed, spoiled little brats who have never been anywhere or seen anything.
