What do you think about the ML350 - 2006 model ?
Is that cost a lot to maintain a Mercedez ?
Please advise.
Thanks in advance.

We have a old 2002 ML430. And are very disappointed with it. We only found out after wards that it isn't a real merc. Its a Jeep with a merc badge. It drives like an American car and the consumption is a joke. When we plan a trip through a country we have to make sure there are petrol stations at least every 400km. There isn't enough wheel travel on the rear wheels to go through ditches and the rear bumper is one big scoop when going through river beds. When you drive over speed bumps you are thrown front to back. In Europe it was Voted amongst the ten worst cars to have maintained (7 other were french) because the agents were not skilled enough to maintain them. You HAVE to use the agents because of the computer box and they designed it so that you need special tools to service it. I doesn't even have a oil sump screw, the agents use a pump to renew the oil. As a result once it is out of service plan it is worth nothing because the services are so very over priced. I know you are asking about the new shape ML I wouldn't buy it. Get a real 4x4...

I would think if you can afford this vehicle, then maintenance would not be an issue. Personally I don't really care for the German makes. They are among the safest in the world, but the reliability especially in the electrical systems would be a concern. I have read Consumer Reports, and they have observed that even a two year old vehicle was starting to have some issues. The 2006 is too new to be sure that they have all the bugs worked out on this new model.

I work for Mercedes Benz in Alabama where they are made, and I believe the ML350 is a excellant buy, But if you would like a little more room take a look the new G-Class. It is the extended version of the M-Class.

if you think about fuel then you should get the E320 as it has a smaller engine, also it has a great grip and makes it easy for you to park as it smaller in size than the MLand not much narrower wheelbase in addition you can tell that the E class wasnt used as much as the ML as the E class lasted for 5 years with a less mileage tha the ML which lasted for 3 years which shows that parts of the ML has been used up quickly which means you have to spend more money on fixing them. In addition the E class is a RWD(rear wheel drive) while the ML is an AWD(all wheel drive) which shows that ML wastes more fuel. So.......you should get the 04 E320

I use to work for Mercedes,, the ML 350 is my Dream car since then among all other GREAT Mercedes cars.. Believe me Mercedes 350 specially the one that comes in an off-Road package is the best car ever. Go for it and don't hesitate.

Its pretty nice. It always costs a lot to maintain a luxury car and SUV but I think its worth it, if you really want it.
