according to turbotax, i paid 16% on my AGI for 2005. in 2004 I think it was 12%...
These percentages did not include the 401k deductions which I maxed out so the total percentage of taxes I paid on my entire income was even lower....
We are condidtioned to say we pay too much in taxes....
The tax bracket we are in is not the amout of taxes we pay on our entire income. so some people think they are paying more taxes then they are.
my income last year was in the top 10% and I had no secret loopholes or special deductions other then home and charities etc.
