My wife is in her mid 40's and only recently did our sex life change embarrassingly for the both of us. It seems that her vaginal cavity may be enlarging and she nor I know why. She just had a pap but did not ask the doctor why her vaginal cavity may be enlarging. She might have been embarrassed because she has made the comment about women not wanting to be known for having a large vagina. Is this normal and if so what can be done to help tighten up the vagina.

The vaginal wall is a muscle.
Like any muscle it can be exercised and strenthened and made tighter and firmer.
Do a search for kegel exercises.

Yes indeed, vaginal muscles can be trained which might resolve part of the problem. And yes it is true men will over time loose some length and strenght (erection not as hard as it used to be).

And no. Don't operate just for another reason than a medical one. Accept that your sexual relation changes over time. Both physical and emotional.

Consider a different position when having intercourse. Information abound on this topic. This will help both man and woman if 'friction' is needed. Introducing sex toys, if not offended by them, might help as well. To give her the feeling of being filled, or use a dildo while pentrating at the same time.

On the other hand there are many different ways of pleasing both you and your partner in different ways which are described in almost any book on the topic.

There are excercises that can be done to keep the muscles toned, one of which just uses an inflatable ball between the knees and applying pressure while lying on your back, do several repitions several times a week.

Ask her to undergo Colpoplasty (plastic repair of the vagina). This operation can tighten up the vagina.

Are you sure that you are not shrinking or that she is not stepping out with a larger man? Just teasing. Tell her to ask the doctor when she goes back.

Having children is one way to get stretched....the best option is to do Pelvic floor muscle (kegel) exercises.
