Does somebody know what was going on with the jews after Esdrah-Nehemiah, and before Herod the Great?

Alexander the Great took over Judea! He spread the Greek language and culture thoughout the area and made possible the Roman conquest centuries later as the entire area had a common language...Greek.

They were being ruled by the Greeks before THAT. And before THAT, I dunno! ANYBODY's that wants it!
