for a presidential run in '08? Don't you people understand that he is a JUNIOR senator! This is only his first term as senator...don't you think more time as a "public servant" , a political track record of some merit may be a requisite to form a more informative view or opinion of him and what he could or couldn't bring to the table...?
(I have nothing against him....but geez people....chill out! You seem to speak without a solid foundation.)

He's the Token Black Guy of the Democrat Party, just like Colin Powell was of the Republican Party. He's the "In" Minority right now. Just like with Colin Powell, all they could say about the Guy, was that he was a great Speaker.

Just like with the Republicans and Powell, when the Democrats are done with Obama, they'll throw him on the Minority scrap heap along with Jesse Jackson, and Al Sharpton.

So he's a junior senator -- 99th out of 100 I think. He is not corrupt though. 35 years, born in Hawii, and he has been living in the U.S. for a while. If you really want to know why his name is thrown around look at the democratic hopefulls. Hillary? Too devisive. Kerry? Wont be forgiven. Edwards? Edwards?

Because a while ago he made a series of inspirational speeches that reminded people of JFK on a visceral level. Unfortunately, his record proved to be less than stellar later...but hey, since when did being a total failure in life keep someone from becoming President?

He is the ideal candidate. Complete middle of the road. Liberal, conservative, white, black... all rolled into one. And he took some really good public speaking classes. And he's cute
