In the original series, the camera would occasionally zoom in closely on batman's crotch, and you could see a significant bulge there, indicating an erection. This was sort of unsettling whenever the only other person in the room was Alfred the butler. I assume women are attracted to the obvious bulge in batman's costume and are always waiting for the next close-up.
