That is because we as a society have defined 'beauty' as people who resemble those aforementioned classic stars. They are the benchmark of beauty. Stars of today will always be compared to those of the past. People will say stuff like "She's not beautiful, she only has her nose but not her eyes." If we redefine beauty using a current star, then all those of the past suddenly become ugly because they do not look like her.

I agree very much! Sadly, women of now, no matter how beautiful they seem, have lost their modesty and innocence. It seems like everything is more dirty.... that's why I love watching old movies and seeing pictures of Vivien Leigh, Olivia De Havilland, Lana Turner, Grace Kelly, Rita Hayworth...... it's so rare to find that beauty anymore, and that's really sad! I think the beauty of women then was TRULY beautiful. Now, what kidn of beauty like that is left? Practically none. ESPECIALLY in celebrities. Look at what they're involved with! Just plain sad. Well, I'm glad there's someone- you- who has such a good opinion. I needed to hear that... thanks for asking! Like I said, I agree to the fullest!! :)

I think so, yes. I agree with you! Grace Kelly is especially a favorite because she is just so darn beautiful and a wonderful actress as well. I guess there is a big difference between the classic and modern actresses... Of course Angelina Jolie, Reese Witherspoon, Julia Robers, Catherine Zeta-Jones, and the like are beautiful too, but Grace's beauty just plain outdo them all.

You're definitely right ... Judy Garland, Rita Hayworth, Ann Miller, Elizabeth Taylor, Vivien Leigh, they're all beautiful, and will be remembered for always as such.

I even do not comprehend how lengthy they are, yet Elizabeth Taylor has some real kick @$$ longish speeches in who's petrified of Virginia Woolf? very emotional, yet they have were given some undesirable language. possibly you should replace a lot less offensive language? there are likely some longer costs in the Lion in wintry climate for Katherine Hepburn although i do not undergo in ideas any being everywhere close to that lengthy.
