Your friend likely will take the vicodin for anything and sounds like your friend needs help.

Yea, numb the pain with an ice pack and the benadryl will help as will 1 percent hydrocortisone cream. If the pain is that severe the answer to your question is that its ok. I was seriously injured on duty and have had multiple surgeries involving re-routing nerves and severe pain. I'm in a pain clini management clinic and take 8-10 hydrocodone (vicodin) a day and for allergies take 4 25mg benadryl twice daily. The only reaction you might have is drowsiness if they make you sleepy.

don't mix the two-there is a possiblity of major central nervous system depression-he could stop breathing (think alcohol and vicodin)
they have synergystic effects-they can make eachother worse-in this case 1+1 doesn't always equal 2. it may equal 4 or 5, depending on how his body reacts to these things.
if the pain is bad enough that he feels the vicodin is necessary he needs to seek professional treatment.
(for reference, i am a paramedic working in an urban environment for the past 7.5 years-i see A LOT of drug overdoses)

No. You must give the vicodin to me right away.
Seriously, between the drowsiness from the benadryl and the buzz from the vic, that's quite a ride. Probably not dangerous but someone is going to be hammered. Lucky bastard.

This shouldn't be a problem, but he/she may not want to drive until the effects of the medication are better understood. Benedryl (diphenhydramine) is a very effective antihistamine. Your friend may feel drowsy and the effect may be more pronounced than if just taking either of the medications alone. Diphenhydramine is given for sleep frequently in hospitals and is the active ingredient in Tylenol PM and other sleep aids that causes the drowsiness.
I hope that your friend gets better soon!

Yes its ok to mix to the two, I usually take benadryl right after taking vicodin or lortab to stop the itch that comes with narcotics like the two.

A centipede bite is not really a big deal. Put some ice on it, use spray benadryl so he will not sleep all of the time.
