Are there any games that are similar to Stronghold 2? Ex: Medieval time period, simulation, and such.

Yes. There's Cossacks 1 and 2, Age of Empires 1 2 and the newest addition, no.3. Then there's Empire Earth which was made by a group of people from the Microsoft Age of Empire's team. My favorite would be the War of the Ring from EA (from the Lord of the Rings movie).
P.S. There's also Warcraft 3 which has a really cool storyline, and last but not least, the Battle Realms series -this game is really great because you can "evolve" your units by combining 2 differen units into 1 cool new soldier.

I've seen nothing quite exactly like the Stronghold series (g'day my lord). Microsoft's Age of Empires series is the closest to it that I've come across. I'm guessing that you've seen it, but if you haven't, it is the de facto golden standard for modern RTS (real time strategy) games.
The "Conquest" series(American Conquest, etc...) also has similar gameplay.

stronghold is the best, but u can also try age of empires III and knights and merchants..
