Why do you think companies pay celebrities millions of dollars to endorse their products and not john "I actually know how this product works" Doe. Because people want to be celebrity and want to be near celebrity, I mean during the last presidential elections I saw more actors, athletes and musicians asked about their political opinions of a candidate than those that actually knew what the heck the issues where (I bet some celebrities don't even know the fundamental issues that the party they are endorsing support!) My suggestion if it bothers you ask a celebrity to campaign for your purpose I bet people would vote for your point of view then LOL!

his celebrity status did. just like angelina jolie and the rest of the celebs u poke their nose in other countries business. it's good to offer help but it is a shame that we all care about one thing or another but nothing is noticed until a celeb pokes their nose in it. we all knew about people suffering in africa but now that angelina adopted a baby or two over there now it is all in the media. he ll adopt a kid in the u.s. u have to start at home first before you branch out and help others. united states have so much poverty it is pathetic. bono is so worried about ending poverty he should start with the mishandling of funds by fema. we still have families doing without and there is documentation showing where people in prison received fema money and they were on lock down.
