I will be singing my Praises to God!!! That will be the best thing to happen! I just can't wait to see it happen. Several churches are holding prayer vigils on Tuesday, July 11, 2006 between 9:00 a.m. and 9:30 a.m. I will be down on my knees with them!

I work with Juvenile Sex offenders at a treatmet facility. I have discussed the new laws with them at length, and if the laws that restict their lives too much, they won't comply with their supervison and registrations, and end up more likely to reoffend. what most people do not realize about Sexual offenders is that for a large majority of them, a Feeling of powerlessness is the main cause for them to enter their assualt cycle.

Just becuase the offense is sexual does not mean it's to fullfill a sexual need.. mainly it's power and control, a way to escape the problems in their life, and the thrill of the act by doing somthing and not getting caught.

what would i do? applaude the judge, the law is too tough and detremential to society and recovery.

Edit in response to above comment : 95% of offenders of children know their victims prior to the assualt.... a stranger is safer than a preacher.

Well, since I'm not in the States now and hopefully won't be until much later...nothing.
But if I return soon with my two children...probably freak out. But like the first person said, do nothing. It wasn't really working anyway. All you can do is use your parents' intuition and watch your children's behavior arounds strangers. It's up to the parents to keep their children safe, the govt can only do so much.

That's what the appeals process and common sense are for....by the way, another great think about the US; the rule of law.
