I'm going out with someone who's father was a surveyer at bomb sites. He was exposed to radiation and this guy I'm with enjoyed sitting on his father's lap as a child in the winter because it was warm. I'm wanting to know if it is possible that this guy could pass on genetic defects to his own children since he was possibly exposed to radiation when he would sit on his father's lap. Could it have affected him to where birth defects could be inherited in his children?

Oh and his father passed away a few years ago from lung cancer. He was in his late 60s.
