Bugatti Veyron is said to be the most powerful, but I know that Ultimate Aero produces 1046 hp (vs 1001 for Bugatti)
Modified cars are also Ok.

top fuel drag cars have about 8000hp (really) and can do a quarter mile in under 4 seconds at about 400mph.
ive seen a toyota supra twin turbo that had 1200hp and would run about 230mph in a quarter mile

i saw a mazda mx-6 it was 1237 hp it was going 6.92 seconds 196.24 mph but it was triple turbo
