You are confusing technology with culture. A culture will define the way in which technology is allowed to be used e.g. everybody (unless they're sick) will agree that using a camcorder to record child pornography is wrong. The camcorder itself is neutral and can be used for either good or evil.
As for Western society being decadent and corrupt, any thinking Christian should be able to agree with that ... the world hasn't changed much in 2000 years or so since Paul said, "Do not be conformed to this world system ..." (Romans 12:2 my trans.).

They hate the western culture, not the western technology. Culture and technology are different, you see.

Kind of makes you wonder about those consiparcy theorists who think the CIA is involved with the terrorists. It's the little things that no one questions.
