you think that for example in 1998 the brazilians sold the game to the french as all said or that the 2006 quarterfinal france brazil was again sold i dont think so because you do not give national pride for money and so all these theories are started by people who do not know how to lose

Matches cannot be fixed. Unfortunately the referees can have a big influence in match outcomes, I've had experience with that. For those who say the matches are fixed, they are just upset their team lost or was eliminated. No one will come up with hard evidence that match fixing occured in the World Cup. If it happened with Juve, I don't know how it was done, and I would rather not know.

I think people say that because their team lost, instead of saying hey myteam did their best and at least they made to the World Cup and up to the point of their elimination
Edit:
To poster Aussie Crusader, maybe there would not have been a penalty kick if the Aussie player had NOT slide tackled the Italian player INSIDE his own goal area. Did that cross your mind??

I too don't believe that any WC game was fixed - club level competition yes but certainly not in WC or Euro. People will believe nonsense because there are many negative minds and skeptics, cynics, sore-losers you name it. In the absence of any irrefutable proof the 'conspiracy theory' is just that - theory.

Anyone who thinks games are fixed should not bother watching. The games are not fixed, and referees make mistakes (they are human) during the split second they have to decide. It makes me laugh that some of the people who have been posting on this forum that games are fixed or that referees are cheating, are the same people who either condone or ignore the diving and cheating tactics of players of their own team - selective eyesight I think.

I would not go as far as to say the games are fixed, but the ref can certainly significantly help out a team, especially when a penalty is awarded for a dive.
