I loved Walk the Line BECAUSE - I went to see it in the theater with a girlfriend of mine who is Johnny Cash's niece. Her mother is Johnny's youngest sister. She told me that she really enjoyed the movie because it held up to the truth. Her mother wasn't too pleased with the portrayal of her brother - probably because the truth hurts. BUT I thought (and she thought) that Phoenix and Witherspoon did a great job with the music, and I enjoyed the storyline, of course. She just cried all the way through it, because she missed her family. Now as for the Notebook, I read the book. The storyline is well-written and super sappy - but I liked it. It's worth a look...I suppose. My vote is Walk the Line

Walk the Line is a great movie about Johnny Cash and I love country music and Reese so I love it too, she does a remarkable job playing June Carter

I hated the notebook! Never saw walk the line and my fave movie is Dog Soldiers, really ace British werewolf movie!

I LOVED The Notebook! As far as Walk The Line, I knew the four Cash girls and Johnny's first wife, Vivian, and I did not like how it treated them. It was a decent movie otherwise with superb acting, but not fair or factual with regard to Johnny's first family!
