Registered Sex Offenders in 27 states vow civil disobedience

In an incredible and long overdue stand against the
constitutionality of sex offender registration laws, registrants in
27 states have quietly banned together to organize an orchestrate an
exercise in civil disobedience. The supreme court has grossly failed
in it's duties to uphold the constitution repeatedly. It is now up
to us.

Representatives of the group say their plans are peaceful and non
violent. The individuals on the registry have been subjected to
numerous retroactive laws which has amounted to what they feel is
additional punishment. Many have been forced from their homes and
even entire cities recently with the introduction of "residency
restriction" laws. These laws forbid anyone on the registry,
regardless of their individual crime or the time lapsing since their
conviction, from living within anywhere from 1,000 to 2,500 feet
from places where children congregate, such as schools, daycare
centers, and parks.

I think there are too many shades of gray. An 18 year old could have sex with a minor who lied and said she was legal....Boom.

A sexually active minor could be pissed off because a guy would not have sex with her, go to her parents, and scream rape. Boom.

A child could have been molested him or herself and never sought help because he/she was told if they did tell something bad would happen. This kid grows up and follows in the footsteps of the the molester, gets caught, does time, really is rehabilitated because they were victims themselves.

There should be ways to distinguish between hard core and those who learned their lessons and will never be a threat again.

The evil ones, they are the ones who do not register. The ones who do register it seems to me are a lot more non-threatening because they are trying to law abiding citizens.

I would be more interested in knowing if I am living next to a thief or a murderer. They too should have to register.

I detest the evil sex offenders....but am sane enough to know that mistakes happen. Look at folks who have beeen thrown in jail, every one convinced they were guilty, only to have their DNA proclaim them innocent.

Mistakes happen. Women, and girls who think they are women lie. Gads, what if a little slut lied about your brother, and on her word was convicted and tarred with the title sex offender???

Think people. Think.

Sigh. Some people don't start pick at the underbelly of things, and start thinking, until it becomes personal,. Guys out there, what if it happened to you??? What if a cute young thing tried to get you in to bed and you refused. Furious at being rejected she goes to her parents in tears. The cops pick you up and suddenly it is her word against yours. The girl is believed because she is after all a "helpless girl child"

Boom, you are now a sex offender and all these horrors you said sex offenders deserve are now your world. Do you deserve it??? No.No, but, you helped create the world you now find yourself in.

One last thing before I get off my soapbox. Let's say the ratio of sex offenders who will never offend again to the number of sex offenders will will offend again is 8 to 3. 8 being the number of those who won't offend ever again.

What happens if we take away housing and jobs for all sex offenders including the good eight????

They will all resort to crime, and living on the streets. They will be arrested, and our jails will bulge at the seams, and murderers, and thugs, and thieves and druggies, and heavens only what else will be allowed to oooze their way back onto the streets and into our lives.

America will become a very, very, very unsafe place.

I repeat again....Think America, think.

I am glad it is a law, a sex offender should not be allowed anywhere near a child, and should not be allowed to live near a school or playground... It is a great law.. get used to it.. It will stand, and if you live near one, better get your bags packed, because someone will find out and you will be in big trouble, the law was made for a reason.. most sex offenders prey on children, and should not be allowed to be anywhere near a child.. their urges get the best of them when they are that near a child, and will get the best of them, and another child will be hurt of killed, I am sorry if you did not have any thing to do with a child, but if you are a registered sex offender, and live near any of these sites, there are plenty other places for you to live, I say move and move fast !!!

Have you lost your little sex offending mind?

Do you really expect to be able to frequent places where you can pick out another victim at will?

Sex offenders are deviants. There is no cure short of execution.(my preference ) That is the reason you freaks are required to register with the authorities. You should consider yourself lucky somebody hasn't done society a huge favor and snuck up on you (much like you did to your victim) in your sleep and ended your pitiful existence.
Kind of like God pouring some bleach in the gene pool.

I really have no idea if this is true or a rumor... and if it's a rumor, I don't know where it started. But, I do have a related question...

Why the double standard? In our society our system of justice is supposed to recognize individuals as 'rehabilitated' after they have served the punishment for their crime.

I know that sexual predators often strike more than once and I don't really think that tracking them in some way is wrong. But again, why the double standard?

Why don't we track those convicted of murder or manslaughter the way we do sexual convicts? Why don't we track those who commit a violent robbery like we do sexual predators?

I would like to know if someone with a history of violent robbery moves into my neighborhood. I would like to know is someone convicted of murder (even accidental murder) is moving onto my street. I want to know if my kid's friends' parents have been convicted of negligence toward a child in there care.

Where are the national registries for these criminals? How about the laws telling my government(s) to notify me when someone like this moves into my area? Where are the laws keeping these people away from playgrounds, schools and bus stops?

If we are going to 'hound' sexual predators like this in the name of our children's safety, why not track all criminals that make it unsafe for our children to leave our homes???

"It's not a 5 year old or under" If you had sex with any child, or anyone against their will then you are sick. You deserve what you get. As an adult you can make your choices, and you've made yours. Now you can lay in the bed that you've made and take what is coming to you. It's called KARMA. You get what you give.

You know what? Those offenders could live anywhere they wanted to. They didn't have to register anything that everyone else doesn't. They could live at 'home' and they could visit playgrounds and schools. They could play with children and go anywhere they wanted to. They could work at any job they wanted to, drive any car, eat at any restaurant. Just like everyone else...

UNTIL THEY CHOSE TO HURT OUR BABIES!!!

There are consequences to behaviors. They are reaping the consequences to the behavior they have sown.

That's the trouble with them now, they don't want to be grown men who take responsibility for their choices. They want to make bad decisions and let everyone else pay.

No dice, buddy.
