That is an excuse for him to drink more and for you to back off... If he get's violent and angry then there is a problem..My ex-husband was abusive when he drank.. But, my ex-boyfriend only wanted to cook and get romantic when he drank.. Some ppl can handle it some can't...I diffently could not handle the beatings.. I hope this helps in your search...

You're not. You're trying to keep control over your own life. Best way to do that is to remove the problem. It's your right not to tolerate alcohol, drugs or any abuse.

if it is your joint he is living in, then time for a new resident for him. or u need to be out of there. he needs to see the seriousness of the situation. if he truly cares for you or for himself for that matter, then he will scale back. if that does not happen, then you r the better for it. don't hang your head low when that decision time comes. there is nothing wrong with recognizing the value of life, yours and his. u can only control your actions. remember that, and stay up.

Wow. Alcoholic? Thats too bad. You should try talking w/him when he's sober and if he still won't stop drinking so much you should think about leaving his sorry butt behind and finding someone who will appreciate you.
