There's no such thing as a pad answer to interview questions. You have to explain your reasoning in such a way that an employer would say, "I understand and can relate to that."
For example, I left hi-tech because of widespread industry downsizing. This is a perfectly legitimate reason because jobs became much more unstable and layoffs increased.
I've also switched fields because I spent so many years and had risen as far as I can go. So I switched to something else that offered room for job growth. Again, perfectly understandable.
The KEY is to be able to give a good reason for a total 180 in careers. And to convince that employer that this new direction is really what you want.
