Yes, but avoid places like Soweto (Joburg) and Mamalodi (Pretoria) as there is a very high crime rate, be sensible and try not to act like a tourist, ie. cameras, lots of jewelery, open displays of wealth. I lived there for 2 years in Nelspruit near the Kruger National Park, fabulous country

most certainly Neil, we have several world heritages sites with some of the most scenic places on earth, lotsa game and cultural/historical places to visit as well. The people are very friendly and helpful, but i agree with Andrew, esp in poor areas do not display your riches, use a purse around your neck that you can hide behind your clothes, not a moonbag. The average unemployment in South Africa is close to 40%, so yes a lot of poverty, but at the same time a lot of wealth esp. in the cities as well.

i have had a tumbler of wine and that i'm feeling jovial on the Friday evening. South Africa is a impressive position. Pity about the authorities. Cape city is the perfect position to come back, as they cater for vacationers and the safe practices is amazingly sharp in places frequented by employing vacationers, like the Waterfront. e book by potential of a travelling organisation and also you'd be guaranteed that you've a extra perfect possibility of vacationing wisely.
