Ohio state is nicknamed "the heart of it all." Why is that? What does "the heart of it all" mean?

Ohio is roughly heart-shaped (like Michigan is glove shaped), and it is in the part of the country called the "heartland."

It looks similar to a heart in shape. Also like a heart main "arteries" interstates run through Ohio. 3 major east-west interstates (70,80,90) and 2 major north south interstates(75,77) also run through the state.
