It means the same thing in any language. Philosophers throughout the world and the ages have struggled with the dicotomy between what are senses perceive, and what is reality.

To many people, these are two different things. Our brains process the information they receive through the senses differently in each person, so that we are really seeing our own mental picture of what it is. This has caused some philosophers to question whether there is any such thing as "reality"
