As the the World Cup has gripped my attention,... as it does every 4 years,.... I can't help but too ask myself,... what if baseball organised a true World Series,... and invite every nation to take part,..... I think it would be amazing and would help to promote the game world-wide.

It would be awesome and should take place every two years, not 4 (too long to wait)... and go through qualifying rounds

World Baseball Classic. Remember? I guess whoever wins that could play the US World Series champs. But I doubt it.

They did. It was called The World Baseball Classic earlier this year, although that was a gathering of professionals from all over the world representing their respective counties. A true World Series, to me, would be a tournament that pits each of the world's most prestigious league's respective champions (MLB included) against each other to determine who is TRULY the best baseball team in the world. Note TEAM, not mashup of fellow countrymen who usually don't play together and don't know each others' style of play.

A ture world series, yes. Baseball really needs to change the name of the series to something like: "Major League Championship Series" after all they call the American and National League series "Championship Series". It only make sense. A world Tourny world be great for the game. I agree with you!!

Isn't that the Olympics? Baseball and Softball have been in the olympics since 1996 and they have been removed from the 2012 games. Because of American dominance for softball, we only won one gold for baseball, Cuba has the other 3. I personally think it should be an olympic sport, the official reason for removing it is that there are not enough countries participating in them. I think it is sad that they can have trampolining (it is in with gymnastics) but they are getting rid of a true sport. it is very sad.

Yes, yes, yes. Then the rest of the world will stop laughing at us for calling it "The World Series", when there is only American teams playing.

I think I know what you mean : Our AL & NL play together against other countries and not play for the country of their birth like they did in the WBC.

A-Rod would play for the U.S. instead of being torn between D.R. & U.S.A, right? Is that what you mean?

Yes! That would be awesome!
