Is an MFA in writing worth it????

i am looking into mfa programs in creative writing....do you have any experiences or advice to share??

A literary agent told me it doesn't matter much anymore because so many writers are going for their MFA.

Unless of course you go to schools with a good MFA program. (yes, like Iowa)

Well the University of New Orleans has a great program. Of course you've looked at Iowa! The degree is great, it depends on you and how well you sell yourself as to where it can take you.
