arrange those numbers in sequence.....
3,4,5,5,5,7,9,10,11,13

find the lower qurtile n upper quartile and median......
median= ( 5 + 7 ) / 2 = 6
upper quartile = 10
lower quartile = 5

and limits......
lower limit = 3
upper limit = 13

something like this...........

l--|___|_______|------l
3.5.....6..............10...13

(ignore all those dots......,not nid to draw those dots...just i use it instead of space bar)

and later i think the question will ask u it skew to the left or right...

3, 4, 5, 5, 5, 7, 9, 10, 11, 13

Median = (5 + 7)/2 = 12/2 = 6

Lower Quartile (3, 4, 5, 5)
(4 + 5)/2 = 9/2 = 4.5

Upper Quartile (9, 10, 11, 13)
(10 + 11)/2 = (21/2) = 10.5

Here is how you draw out the box-and-whisker plot

Lower Extreme = 3
Lower Quartile = 4.5
Median = 6
Upper Quartile = 10.5
Upper Extreme = 13

In that order from Lower Extreme to Upper Extreme

Now just draw it so that it looks like the graph on http://ellerbruch.nmu.edu/cs255/jnord/boxplot.html

Box and whisker plots... this is for statistics, right?

If memory serves, you need to find five statistics: The lower range, the first quartile, the median, the third quartile, and the upper range.

Once you have these, you make a box out of the middle three numbers (first quartile, median, third quartile). And make whiskers for the lower range and upper range.

well it's not zat difficult.
lowest value:3
lower quartile:5
median:6
upper quartile:10
greatest value:13
U need 2 arrange them in ascending order first.zen median=(10+1)/2
